No, Mommy is not going to have a baby.

Thursday we had a cat show up at our back door. We went outside and looked at it. We thought it was our neighbor's, but it wasn't. Our neighbor's is all brown, and this cat is tan and white.

We followed it around outside for a while, but then we had to go inside. The cat kept on whining at the door, so we let it inside. It explored the house and made itself right at home. We tried to feed it milk and bread, but it didn't want to eat. We put it back outside.

Friday morning when we woke up it was crying outside our back door, so we let it in again. We put it back outside while we went to school.

When we came home from school, it was still at our back door. Mommy bought cat food for it because it seemed hungry and kitty litter. We let it come back inside and it ate the food. It slept in my bed during the night, but it kept getting up and down. Daddy says at 2:30 in the morning the cat was meowing outside of their bedroom door, but they wouldn't let it come in to their room.

We're not sure if we're going to keep it or not. What do you think?

In other news, I memorized the preamble to the Constitution this week.
Andrew wants to put that it is Mommy's birthday tomorrow (or was that Mommy that wanted to put that?) Also, Andrew picked out a toy at the store that looks like an iPod, but when he opened the package he discovered that it had makeup inside! It was a toy for girls. Oops!

We think all boys need a pet to love and take care of. Your daddy had a wonderful dog that was a stray who showed up at our front door. I had considered getting a cat a long time ago for my grandsons to love, but...
Did Miss Sears have the song for the preamble? My third graders used to love singing the song even during art or other times.
Love you - and your family whether 4 or 5 members!

Hi Nathan,
I think you and Andrew should keep it but that it should sleep in your Mommy and Daddy's bed.
Are you sure it's a house cat? Maybe it's a baby mountain lion!!
Do you want some suggestions for a name? Here's an idea: "CAT" or "KITTY" or "IT." You can probably think of better names than those.
Anyway, have fun with IT.

Hi Nathan,

I loved meeting Miss Sophie. She certainly smelled me over good. I hope I passed her inspection. I think you'll love having her and that she'll help you keep your mind off the cat you had to give away. Love her a lot, and she'll love you back.

Love, Grandma B.
